Over the course of our three week trip from Philadelphia to Los Angeles and back, I took a total of 652 pictures with my digital camera (a Kodak DC280, if you're keeping track of that sort of thing). Out of those 600+ images, I found 85 that I felt were worth including in this gallery.

That's not to say there aren't many more decent photos buried deep in the archives. Quite to the contrary. But honestly, once you've seen one beautiful Utah canyon or a pile of Joshua Tree rocks, you may as well have seen them all.

So to keep the boredom to a minimum and help everyone stay awake during our virtual vacation slideshow, I've tried to only include the best shots.
